I build backend and platform infrastructure, and the AI features that run on top of it. TypeScript end to end: services, queues, real-time messaging over MQTT and WebSockets, the stores underneath, and the deployment around them. Native modules on mobile when a product needs hardware the SDKs do not reach.

On the AI side: retrieval over private data, structured output a caller can rely on, agents bounded by deterministic policy gates rather than prompt instructions, and sane behaviour when a model is slow, wrong, or unreachable.

I am strongest where the failure modes matter more than the happy path. Fleets nobody can reach, identity lifecycles, work that survives a restart without running twice.

I work docs-first: the domain mapped and the significant decisions written down before the code exists, with what each one cost. Those write-ups end up on the blog.

How I work

  • Understand the domain before writing code.
  • Write the important decisions down.
  • Keep systems simple until complexity earns its place.
  • Treat production as part of the feature.
  • Put deterministic boundaries around AI.
